Hair has always been more than just a career for me—it’s been a passion and a constant part of my life for over 25 years. I fell in love with the creativity of hair and color and the way it can change how someone feels the moment they look in the mirror. Owning a salon was something I always dreamed about, even while working behind the chair and building relationships with clients I truly care about. When the opportunity came to purchase Pixie Hair Salon, it felt like the right moment to turn that dream into reality.

Stepping into ownership has been one of the most meaningful milestones of my career. I believe the most important part of what I do is listening, because every client has their own story and their own vision. My goal is always to create looks that feel authentic, wearable, and true to each person—not just what’s trending. Whether it’s a subtle refresh or a complete transformation, I love being part of that moment of confidence and self-expression.

My journey with hair design began in my childhood,
evolving from styling dolls to experimenting with color and cuts for friends in high school. Twenty years later, the same passion drives my career. I’ve dedicated myself to mastering the craft, through advanced training with industry leaders, like Vidal Sassoon, Wella and Kevin Murphy. Since becoming Ouidad certified in 2010, I’ve specialized in curly hair transformations, alongside deep love for precision razor cuts, bobs and creative color. For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than using my artistic vision to help my clients feel confident and beautiful.

Courtney

Master Stylist

Courtney has been cutting hair since she was five! Granted she was using plastic scissors on her “client” aka dad but she was destined to become the accomplished stylist that she is. With over 16 years cutting hair in the Capital Region and training from New York City to London she’s a master at giving her clients a style and color that perfectly suits their lifestyle. From men’s and razor cuts to long flowing beach waves—and everything in between—there’s nothing she doesn’t put her creativity and passion into. We’re so thrilled that Courtney became part of our team at Pixie in 2017.

My name is Mikaela
(Mik for short). I was always an artsy kid growing up, but doing hair was actually never on my radar until my mid 20s. That’s when I quit my job to attend Orlo school of Hair Design full time, graduating in 2022, licensed shortly after and basically been at Pixie since. Now, I am behind the chair full time doing what I love.

I dabble in a little bit of this and that but I really enjoy vivids, color corrections, lived in colors and shaggy cuts.

When I’m not behind the chair you can find me reading, gaming, or watching Lord of the Rings from beginning to end (again) with my cats.

Hey! I’m Amber, and I’ve been working at Pixie Salon since 2021. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved the art of beauty. 

From Disney princesses to Youtube’s hair & makeup tutorials, I’ve been invested in the beauty industry since the beginning. I graduated from Paul Mitchell The School Schenectady, with the passion to make everyone & anyone feel their best. 

My specialties include; thick hair and/or long hair, as well as custom cuts & colors to anyone who sits in my chair.  My mission is to make every single person feel seen, heard, safe, and beautiful.

Hi, I’m Ava! I attended BOCES
during high school and earned my cosmetology license shortly after graduating. I joined the Pixie team as
an assistant at the beginning of 2026 and have loved growing in the industry ever since. I especially enjoy creating blonde and lived-in color looks, and I’m excited to continue expanding my skills in color corrections and hair extensions. Outside of the salon, I love spending time with family and friends, traveling, and going to concerts! I look forward to helping you feel your best!

My name is Madison but everyone calls me Maddi! Growing up I always knew the beauty industry was my calling. With a competitive cheerleading background you could most definitely find me doing my team mates hair and makeup but I insisted on going to college after high school. I ended up dropping out of college and enrolled myself into The Orlo and I graduated in 2024! I absolutely love what I do. I love chatting with new and existing clients, and making people feel beautiful. I especially enjoy doing blonding, lived in, and dimensional looks. If I am not
at the salon you will most
likely catch me listening to Sabrina Carpenter, shopping,
or walking my dog!

I joined the Pixie Team in July 2024 after completing cosmetology school at the Orlo. Prior to delving into hair, I studied and received a degree in Mathematics & Science, which gives me a unique perspective on my approach to hair. Chemistry is the basis of hair care, after all. I was inspired to get into hairstyling by my cousin, Tonyy, and my love for the beauty industry. I love a challenge, whether it’s a color correction or alternative cut. Extensions, vivids, and alternative styles are my favorite services, but at the end of the day,
I just love to make my clients
feel beautiful and confident.

I’m Rylee! I went to Boces
during high school and got my cosmetology license shortly after I graduated high school! I started at Pixie in 2023 when I was sixteen, and I’ve been here since! I really enjoy blondes and lived in looks but I’m excited to start expanding more with vivids, extensions and color corrections! When I’m not
at the salon chances are I’m traveling, going to a country concert, or hanging out with
my friends and family!
