After 25 years as a top stylist, Kathy took the leap and opened Pixie Salon in August 2014. The cozy, intimate charm of the space inspired her. And her love of the quintessential pixie cut gave her the perfect name. Kathy loves working with clients to evolve their style. She’s passionate about creating that perfect look for each individual. The result? Her cuts and color always leave her clients with shiny, versatile, modern styles that work for them, day in and day out. Kathy wants everyone who comes into her salon, to walk out feeling like an even better version of themselves.

Bob

Senior Stylist, Colorist, Hair Extensions Specialist

While studying for his biology chemistry degree at St. Rose College, Bob would style his classmate’s hair just for fun. But while on his way to dental school, a chance meeting with a charismatic hairdresser changed the course of his life forever. Over 20 years later, Bob has a career and following that truly makes him happy. And his clients reap the benefit of his enthusiasm, his attention to detail and ability to listen and interpret exactly their needs. Hair color is a passion and he is also a master in the application of Great Lengths hair extensions so don’t hesitate to schedule a consult if you’re dreaming of transforming your hair.

Senior Stylist, Ouidad Specialist

As every curly-haired girl knows, it takes specific care and attention to get the perfect look. Ashley was trained at Ouidad in NYC to tame the curl, enhance the curl, color the curl. She consistently consults with her clients, so they can work with their own natural attributes and get maximum results. Since joining us in January 2015, she’s constantly adding new skills to her repertoire—short razor cuts, taming thick, unruly hair and making sure your eyebrows look as amazing as your hair!

Katie Lynn

Nail Technician

Katie Lynn is known for her nail artistry. She’s has been involved in the beauty industry for 20 years with the last 13 devoted to natural nails. Her services include gel polish, hand painted nail art, and pedicures on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Don’t be surprised if you run into Katie Lynn around town on the other days of the week as she pursues her other passion as a professional photographer.

Courtney

Senior Stylist

Courtney has been cutting hair since she was five! Granted she was using plastic scissors on her “client” aka dad but she was destined to become the accomplished stylist that she is. With over 16 years cutting hair in the Capital Region and training from New York City to London she’s a master at giving her clients a style and color that perfectly suits their lifestyle. From men’s and razor cuts to long flowing beach waves—and everything in between—there’s nothing she doesn’t put her creativity and passion into. We’re so thrilled that Courtney became part of our team at Pixie in 2017.

Stylist

Maura graduated from Paul Mitchell Beauty School in 2018 and has been with us ever since, quickly rising from assistant to junior stylist with her own following of clients for everything from cuts and root touch-ups to balayage to fashion-forward colors. Her passion is “dimensional blonding” hair color which she notes is not just for blondes, brunettes can be dimensional, too! She is also certified in Dreamcatcher itips and tape extensions. Maura has that ability to emphasize and enhance her client’s natural beauty. We love seeing her creativity flourish.

Junior Stylist

Mikaela knew the beauty industry was her calling since the very first time she got her hands on makeup and hair color. From voluminous blow outs to playing with natural curls, Mikaela loves creating unique personal looks for her clients. She’s happy to take the time for an in-depth consult before a customized haircut or dramatic new color change. In addition to her own clients Mikaela is a master at assisting with styling and blowouts for all the stylists at Pixie. Junior Stylist

Amber loves making connections with her clients, making them feel comfortable and at home whether they’re in for a simple trim, brightening up a blonde, or a truly big transformation.  Her dream since she was young was to be in the beauty industry and we’re so excited she’s living her dream out at Pixie. Amber is also a certified makeup artist so if you’re looking for a complete look for an upcoming event she’d love to collaborate with you!

Assistant

A 2018 graduate of BOCES Capital Region, Kalin joined us is September 2019 as an assistant to our team of stylists. She always knows where a helping hand is needed so don’t hesitate to ask her for anything. Need a product recommendation?
